Terms & Conditions

Please do not be put off by the terms and conditions, we are caring breeders who want the best for our kittens and so these conditions are put in place to protect them, we hope by reading through this you will know what to expect and exactly what is included in the cost when purchasing a Lunastar kitten.

Living Conditions

An indoor cat is a safer cat so please do not enquire about a kitten if you intend to let him/her outdoors. Ragdolls have a gentle nature and are not streetwise, they are unlikely to defend themselves against more agressive cats, they would also be subject to disease and a target for thieves because they warm up quickly to strangers. Roads are one of the greatest threats to them as they don't have a sense of danger like other cats.

Kittens are sold on the agreement that they will always be kept indoors and never let outside unless in a purpose built enclosure/run.

Kittens will not be sold to any persons under the age of 18.

Kittens must not be decalwed.

Neutering

Kindly note that pet kittens sold for non-breeding purposes will be neutered prior to being homed.

Rehoming

Kittens are sold on the agreement that If an owner wants or needs to

re-home the kitten/cat at anytime during their life the owner will contact us before hand and allow us to purchase the kitten back if needed or for us to help to find the kitten a new home, we will pass on any payment that we receive for the kitten/cat. This is because we like to know where the kittens which we have bred are living and for their well being as we would not home a kitten to anybody we did not feel comfortable with.

Returning a kitten

Full refunds will be given in the 2 following circumstances-

1) If serious illness occurs in the first 72 hours of the kitten leaving the breeder providing there is written proof from a veterinary surgeon.

The breeder is not responsible for any illness occurring after this period.

2) If the kitten is found to be suffering from any defects, diseases or a serious medical condition which can be proved to have existed at the time of purchase, again proof from a veterinary surgeon will be required. If any illness occurs, veterinary advice must be taken and recommended treatment given. All kittens are insured for 6 weeks for free with Pet Plan.

If the kitten/cat ever became seriously ill, we ask that you inform us before any extreme action is taken by a vet. If death of the kitten occurs then no costs can be refunded unless there is written proof from a veterinary surgeon that the death was caused by a hereditary fault/condition.

A refund of 50% of the purchase price will be given if kittens are returned with no medical problems. Exceptional circumstances will of course be considered.

Exporting kittens

Sorry I do not currently export kittens.

Kitten visits & reserving kittens

Kitten visits can take place when the kittens have had their 1st vaccination at 10 weeks old, they can be reserved at this age with a non-returnable deposit of £50. They will be ready to go to new homes from 14 weeks old but can be kept longer if needed. Please note we will not reserve kittens by phone or email, reservations can takes place after viewing the kittens. We have the right to refuse a sale to anyone who we feel could not care for a kitten or anyone we do not feel comfortable with.

When viewing kittens we ask that you don't view any other kittens from another breeder on the same day because of the risk of cross infection.

We may ask while the kittens are young that you use hand sanitizer before handling them to protect them from germs, we follow the same routine ourselves as this minimises the risks of disease.

Picking up your kitten

When the time comes to pick up your new kitten we will ask you to read through and sign our homing agreement which most reputable breeders have although the terms may differ from breeder to breeder.

All kittens go to their new homes with a pedigree, diet sheet and care guide, kitten pack with food, litter, toys and a blanket, being vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, insured, litter trained and will be registered with the GCCF. All kittens are health checked prior to leaving but we strongly advise that you register your kitten with a vet and have them health checked within the first week of bringing them home.

Lunastar kitten Information

We aim to breed strong, healthy and happy kittens and to maintain the sweet temperament and look of the Ragdoll cat.

We believe Ragdolls are the temperament and so our kittens are handled everyday from birth to ensure friendly and loveable babies.

Kittens are born and raised in our home. Once old enough they also have occasional access to our enclosed cat garden. We try our best to get them used to everyday sounds in the home (our kittens are not used to small children or dogs at present). Ragdolls need company and could become depressed if isolated for long periods, so please do not enquire about kittens if you do not have the time for them.

Our cats and their kittens are very precious to us and so when buying a Lunastar kitten, you have the piece of mind that if needed we will offer any help or advice that we can during your kitten's life. It is lovely to hear from new owners from time to time and photos are gratefully received. We never stop caring about the kittens we've bred once they've left us and we even send them a happy 1st birthday card!

What difference does it make if a Ragdoll is registered?

If you buy a kitten from someone claiming it to be pedigree if it isn't registered then there is no proof that the kitten is a pedigree, this includes cross breeds, the person selling the kitten will probably be a back street breeder. The term back street breeder usually describes people who breed animals regardless of physical, genetic, or emotional health. It is also used to describe unreputable commercial breeders in the process of careless breeding, all these people care about is money.

Think carefully before buying and do not buy a kitten because you feel sorry for it. If you buy from an unscrupulous breeder or dealer, you will be supporting their trade in misery. Every one you buy, another one takes it place!
